E-Money’s Biography and Family
Born Emeka Okonkwo in Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria, on February 18, 1981, E-Money got his nickname after he started throwing money around and demonstrating what a luxurious life he had. Some other people even refer to him as Arabic money for his over-the-board generosity.
He is the younger brother of the Limpopo crooner, Kcee and also the official sponsor of his music career plus that of Harrysong and Skiibii. He is also the head of a shipping company called Emmy Cargoes Nig. The company was established in 1997 and was formerly called Borisa Nig. Ltd. He is also into real estate as well as oil and gas.
Unlike his elder brother, E-Money is married. He has three sons with his wife, Juliet, whom he’s been married to for about eight years now. According to him, he met Juliet in 2003 when he was still struggling to make money and she was just what he was looking for – a God-fearing and non-materialistic woman.
Being one of the most popular people on Nigeria’s social media space, people are eager to know how he made his fortune! He used to be an ordinary man who was struggling to make his ends meet, but today we know him as one of the wealthiest young men in Nigeria. Speaking of his turning point, E-Money recalls coming back to Lagos after their traditional marriage and receiving a call that changed his life forever.
Biography Of Engr. Seyi Makinde
“We were on our way to Lagos when I received a phone call informing me that I had been awarded a $2 million contract and that is how our lives changed forever”, he said.
His family is based in the United Kingdom while E-money is in Nigeria most of the time taking care of business. It is not a problem for the family, however, as he travels to see his wife and sons every other week.
E-Money has been so much in the news for lavishing money, especially during public events. Earlier this week, he was sighted in a video footage showing his latest upgraded style of using a money gun spraying device. The money rain took place at a wedding reception of professional football player and Super Eagles member, Onazi Ogenyi.
Who Is Abubakar Adamu Mohammed?
He launched his money gun in April, which helps him flaunt his riches easily. The multi-millionaire was first seen in his common act at the Quilox birthday party of Fuji icon, K1 D Ultimate. The second time was at the wedding reception of actor Mike Ezuruonye’s sister.
Surprisingly, other millionaires such as Dangote, Adenuga, and Otedola, whose wealth have been around for a longer time, are yet to lavish money the way the 5-Star boss does. This leaves most people no option but to ask ‘what does E-money do for a living, aside from managing his shipping company and 5-Star Music’.
In 2014, Vanguard described him as a billionaire, whose business stretches from real estate to the music industry. There could be more to that, as his extravagant lifestyle is second to none.
5-Star Music
We already know that 5-Star music is owned by E-Money and it’s based in Lagos Nigeria. The record label came into existence in 2010 but came to limelight in 2013 with the release of ‘Limpopo’ by the label’s most prominent artist, Kcee. Apart from Kcee, the label also paraded artists like Harrysong and Skiibii.
Harrysong signed up with the label in 2013 and was reportedly the engine room of the label. He was the creative brain behind all the hit songs that came from the stable of Five Star Music including Kcee’s ‘Limpopo‘ and was also in charge of voice training and directing of the label’s music videos.
However, he announced his exit from the company in November 2016 to float his label, Alter Plate. The decision, according to him, was due to unresolved differences between himself and the management of his label. His exit turned very messy when he and his manager, Desmond, were arrested by Kcee and his brother, E-Money. Everything was eventually resolved though and Harrysong returned to the label but still left later on a good note.
In 2014, the label signed Skiibii but he also left after three years. He made himself popular with his August 2015 ‘Death Stunt’ which did not really sit well with many Nigerians but since then, he has released popular songs like ‘Sampu’, ‘Ah Skiibii’, ‘London’ and many others.
