EDUCATION: He attended Gumau Primary School, obtaining First School Leaving Certificate in 1982. In 1987, he sat for General Certificate Examination (GCE) at Government Secondary School, Gumau. He then gained admission into the Bauchi State Polytechnic and obtained IJMB in 1989. In 1994, He obtained a Bachelors of Science from the University of Maiduguri.

CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: In the year 2015, Gumau Lawal Yahaya was elected into the the Federal House of Representatives, to represent the Toro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
