Richard Ayodele Akintunde graduated from the University of Ife in 1984 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985. He is the Founding Partner of the law firm of Ayodele Akintunde & Co. a full service law firm based in Lagos, Nigeria with affiliate offices in Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Richard Ayodele Akintunde was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2016.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Federation of Bankruptcy and Insolvency Professionals (INSOL), a Fellow of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators United Kingdom, a Chartered Arbitrator, a SCMA Accredited Mediation Advocacy Trainer, a member of the panel of Neutrals of the LMDC, a member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration, a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, a SEC approved Capital Market Consultant and a Notary Public of Nigeria.
For over 32 years he has been involved in active legal practice. He has been involved in several landmark cases and high profile transactions. His practice areas include Corporate/Commercial Law, Insolvency, Arbitration, Litigation, Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Employment Law, Environmental Law, Corporate Finance and Securities and Criminal Law.
