Politics
Ambassador Ahmed Malam Madori, a diplomat, a former minister until lately an acolyte of self-styled Talakawa philosopher, Sule Lamido was one of the new APC concerts who won the just concluded party senatorial primaries for Jigawa Northeast senatorial district.
He was a member of parliament in 2002 and had been a federal commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, responsibilities which, obviously, prepared him for his present task of protecting and projecting the image of Nigeria in Turkey.
Ahmed, a giant killer, upset the gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 Jigawa state governorship elections of the state, Pharmacist Ubale Hashim, and former commissioner of health, Dr. Abba Zakari.
A thoroughbred intellectual, his exposure, charisma, and political dogmas elevated him above other contenders in any competitive election. A grassroots politician, he lives with his Kinsmen at expenses of affordable luxury that are readily available in major towns and cities.
However, pundits believe that Ahmed was appointed minister of power and steel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Turkey Ambassador (Turkey) till May 29, 2015 courtesy of Jigawa strongman, Alhaji Sule Lamido. and his major albatross was the way and manner, he ends his relationship with his political mentor, whose supporters see Ahmed as a man not to be trusted with power.
However, the challenge he may face in the forth coming elections might not be unconnected with the fact that Malam Madori will contest with former deputy governor and former Senator, Ubali Shitu under NNPP who has massive followers than Ambassador Malam Madori.
Ambassador Ahmed Abdulhamid Mallammadori was until recently the former Honourable Minister of State for Power and Steel in the last Administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
